Louisville basketball improved to 1-0 earlier this week, as the Cardinals defeated Chattanooga 84-70 after being led by Flory Bidunga and Adrian Wooley. Bidunga finished the game with 16 points and nine rebounds, while Wooley also added 15 points on 50% shooting from the field. Louisville’s win showed a lot of promise and potential in the first half, but the second half told a very different story.
The Cardinals struggled in the second half, shooting 1-of-16 from beyond the arc and 50% from the free-throw line. On top of the shooting woes, the Cardinals gave up 10 offensive rebounds, and that is what really frustrated Kelsey was the Cardinals' effort.
“I was disappointed. I’m not gonna come in here and sugarcoat things. I just can’t do that. I’m a little disappointed, I’m a little ticked off, and I’m excited about getting back to work.”

Ja'Hyde Bown makes history in his dominant senior season
Louisville football improved to 5-3 this past weekend, but another major story was actually down the street at Christian Academy of Louisville. The Cardinals' 4-star wide receiver commit, Ja’Hyde Brown, continues to turn heads nationwide, and this past weekend he etched his name into Kentucky history.
Brown entered the game with 28 receiving touchdowns, and the 4-star Louisville native added three more, bringing his total to 31. Now, with 31 receiving touchdowns, he holds the state record for the most receiving touchdowns in one season.

De'Shayne Montgomery set to be out multiple weeks
Before the Cardinals' 2026-27 season tipped off, Louisville got a crushing update that one of their 4-star transfers, De'Shayne Montgomery, will be out for multiple weeks with a foot injury. Montgomery transferred to Louisville from Dayton this offseason, ranked No. 129 overall and No. 11 among combo guards in the Transfer Portal.
In the Cardinals' three-game exhibition, he scored double digits in every game, including 20 points in their win in the Bahamas in July. He is a crucial piece off the bench, and he will miss some major games this winter. Louisville will need other role players to step up, and Kelsey is already harping on the next-man-up mentality.
“He is a really good player,” stated Kelsey “Other guys have to step up. Next-man-up mentality. Other guys have, and they will.”
