Louisville basketball crushing update on Aly Khalifa

On Thursday, Louisville basketball received crushing news when they found out the NCAA had denied Aly Khalifa's proposal to extend his eligibility. This brutal blow to Khalifa and the Cardinals means he is ineligible for the 2025-26 season. However, the Cardinals and Khalifa can appeal the situation and try to make the NCAA overturn its ruling.

The 6-foot-11 center for the Louisville Cardinals was most likely going to be the Cardinals' starting center next season. Khalifa's best season came in his sophomore season, when he averaged 11.7 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 2.7 assists. He is the perfect fit for Pat Kelsey's lineup as he is a center who can shoot the rock. He shot 51.1 percent from the field and 38.1 percent from the 3-point line.

Louisville received crushing update from the Cardinals No. 1 transfer portal target

Louisville basketball Aly Khalifa's situation got even worse as the Cardinals learned moments after their No. 1 target transfer portal target committed to the Cincinnati Bearcats. Baba Miller was a 4-star transfer out of FAU, who had tremendous upside and would have fit perfectly in this Pat Kelsey lineup.

He was the 11th-best player available in the portal, as the 6-foot-11 center was ranked No. 49 in the class of 2022 and the 12th-best center. Louisville was one of 17 teams to contact Miller, and after James Scott transferred, and now Khalifa might be unavailable, it is evident that Louisville must find another center in the portal. For a long time, Miller was Louisville's No. 1 target, but now they must go back to the drawing board and try to find their diamond in the rough.
