Louisville football continues to hear excellent news for its class of 2026. They recently found out that they are in the final round for a top 400 recruit, as Jeff Brohm and his staff learned they made Jordan Crutchfield's top six schools after the news broke late Wednesday afternoon.

The 4-star safety is ranked as high as the No. 399 player in the class, according to the On3 Industry Ranking. ESPN ranks him as high as the 52nd best player out of the state of Florida and the 23rd best player in his skilled position. The Cardinals have already beaten out elite programs like Texas A&M, as Crutchfield received over 28 offers.

The Cardinals will face a fierce battle for this elite 4-star prospect with Auburn, Florida State, Miami, Mississippi State, and their in-state rival, the Kentucky Wildcats.

Crutchfield is from Fort Pierce, Fla., where he attends Fort Pierce Westwood High School. The 6-foot-3, 220-pound safety has shown elite athleticism on both sides of the football field as he earned 30 tackles, including four for a loss, in his junior season for Fort Pierce. He also secured two interceptions and 11 pass deflections on the defensive side of the ball. On offense, he logged 25 catches for 495 receiving yards and five touchdowns.

The Cardinals are in an in-state battle for Crutchfield as Kentucky currently has the best chance to land the 4-star safety, according to On3 Sports. The Wildcats have the best odds with a 35.1 percent chance he commits to Kentucky, but right behind the Wildcats is Brohm and Louisville with the second-best chances, with a 30.7 percent chance of Crutchfield becoming a Cardinal. Miami's 9.3 percent is the third-best percentage given by On3 Sports experts.

Louisville's 13 commitments make it a consensus top-25 recruiting class and are ranked as high as the 15th-best recruiting class, according to 247 Sports. The Cardinals have already landed four 4-star commitments and will now look to land their fifth in Crutchfield. Louisville's class of 2026 is ranked as the 4th-best ACC recruiting class in On3 Sports and 247Sports recruiting rankings.
