Louisville baseball eyes much needed historic ACC Tournament run

Louisville baseball ended the 2025 regular season on a sour note, losing five of its final six games and seven of its last ten. Dan McDonnell and his Cardinals will now turn the page to the ACC Baseball Tournament and hope to make a deep run to clinch a spot in the NCAA Tournament.

Louisville will look to make history. The Cardinals must win six games to win the ACC Tournament, an accomplishment Louisville has never achieved in the ACC. The Cardinals won the Big East Baseball Tournament back in 2008 and 2009 but never secured an ACC Tournament Title, including in 2015, when they broke the league's record for the most wins in ACC play in conference history.

Louisville basketball's 2024-25 season report card

While Louisville basketball fans are incredibly excited for the 2025-26 season, ESPN went back and graded every ACC team for the 2024-25 season. Louisville was among the few teams that earned an 'A', as the Cardinals' 11 transfers and one freshman stepped up big time and outperformed all expectations.

Louisville was projected to finish ninth in the ACC, but first-year head coach Pat Kelsey had something different in mind. The Cardinals broke the program's conference win record with an impressive 18-2 ACC record, improved their win total by 19 wins from the previous season, and made their first-ever ACC Tournament championship game. Kelsey proved he is an elite recruiter and coach last season, making fans have even higher expectations with one of the best rosters in college basketball.
