Louisville basketball is making a major recruiting push in the class of 2028 as the Cardinals are now officially entering the mix for multiple 5-star recruits. One of the biggest names the Cardinals have reached out to so far is the nation's No. 1 overall recruit, AJ Williams.

The unanimous 5-star recruit has already earned over 21 offers, and the Cardinals were among many big-time programs to contact Williams after the contact period officially opened. The 6-foot-8, 210-pound forward ranks as high as the No. 1 small forward and the No. 1 overall recruit in the class of 2028, and Kelsey quickly made sure to target Williams once he was allowed to.

Louisville has secured historic commitments since Kelsey arrived on campus, and Williams would be another massive splash if the Cardinals can work some magic. The Cardinals have landed a 5-star recruit in consecutive classes, and Williams is quickly emerging as one of the Cards' top dream targets.

Louisville football enters race for elite 4-star CB

Louisville football is trying to build an historic 2027 recruiting class, as Jeff Brohm is bringing in some elite 4-star recruits to put the Cardinals in the mix. The Cardinals have already landed multiple 4-stars in the 2027 recruiting class, but recently it was reported that Louisville entered the mix for one of the best cornerbacks in the 2027 cycle, Monsanna Torbert.

Torbert was an Indiana commit earlier this year but decommitted from the Hoosiers, and now it appears to be a three-team battle for the top-10 cornerback in the 2027 class. Steve Wiltfong, a top recruiting expert for Rivals, reported it was a two-team battle between Ohio State and Michigan, but over the weekend, Louisville entered the race and emerged in the mix.

Torbert already has over 34 offers from major programs, including Louisville, Michigan, and Ohio State. He recently took official visits to both the Buckeyes and the Wolverines, putting pressure on Brohm to try and land an official visit sooner rather than later. The elite cornerback ranks as high as No. 70 overall in the 2027 cycle and No. 10 among cornerbacks.
