Louisville baseball cracks top 15

The Cardinals secured their sixth straight win on the season, as Louisville defeated their in-state rival, the Kentucky Wildcats, 4-3 Tuesday night. The Dan McDonnell Cardinals squad is now 25-7 on the year and ranked in the top 15 at No. 11.

Louisville lost four of five games to back at the end of March, but since then, they rattled off six wins in a row, which includes a win over Cal, a win over Indiana, then a three-game sweep over Boston College, and now a win over Kentucky.

The Cardinals will now shift their focus to North Carolina State as they will hit the road to play in a three-game series in Raleigh, N.C.

Louisville football Spring Game preview

The Cardinals' annual Spring Football game will kick off this Friday, April 11, at 6 p.m. local time. This is a great opportunity for fans to check out the Cardinals' off-season additions and see how this new Jeff Brohm team will look.

Louisville will see a new quarterback, Miller Moss, who will lead the charge in replacing Tyler Shough. The Cardinals' offense is expected to be highly explosive, as, in addition to Moss, Brohm will see Caullin Lacy and preseason All-American Isaac Brown return to the offense. The Cardinals' biggest strength in the upcoming season might be their offensive line, and this game will be a great test to see how elite that line is going to be next year.

Louisville's offense will have to be dominant, and if their offensive line can't create holes and gaps for Brown, it will be a long year. On the other side, the Cardinals will return some key linebacker positions in Stanquan Clark and TJ Quinn. These two elite defenders led the Cardinals in tackling and will bring much-needed veteran leadership, as the area all fans will be watching is the secondary. The Spring Game will be a great first option for fans and experts to see where this secondary is and a great preview of what the defense will look like next season.

The Spring Game will be a great first test for this new looking Louisville Cardinals squad. Louisville will have a tough schedule next season as they have to play Clemson, SMU and Miami. The Cardinals cracked way-too-early rankings at No. 20 as they will try and win nine games for the third straight season.
