Donovan Mitchell makes Louisville basketball history

Former Louisville Cardinal basketball star Donovan Mitchell is the second former Cardinal to be named to the All-NBA First Team. The only other NBA player to earn this high reward was Wes Unseld in the 1968-69 season. Mitchell led the Cleveland Cavaliers to a 64-18 record, earning them the No. 1 seed in the East.

The former Cardinal averaged 24.0 points, 5.0 assists, and 4.5 rebounds per game, shooting 44.3 percent from the field and 36.8 percent from beyond the arc. The four other stars earning a spot on the All-NBA First Team were Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Jayson Tatum, Giannis Antetokounmpo, and Nikola Jokić.
