Louisville basketball has its eyes on multiple 5-stars in the 2026 recruiting class, including the top five recruit in the cycle, Caleb Holt. The consensus 5-star guard is one of the best players in the nation, as he is a unanimous top-10 prospect in the 2026 cycle.
The Cardinals extended an offer to Holt back in 2024, and the noise with Louisville really sparked when the 5-star guard signed with the Cardinals' partner, Adidas. However, since then, Louisville has fallen drastically behind the SEC giants. Holt appears to be all-in on the SEC, as the 5-star guard scheduled another visit to the SEC this weekend, per Rivals/On3 Sports' Joe Tipton.

Holt is one of the Cardinals' top dream targets in the 2026 recruiting class, and it is becoming clear that the Cardinals have an absolute long shot for this coveted shooting guard. The 6-foot-5 200 200-pound shooting guard ranks as high as No. 4 in the nation and the No. 2 shooting guard in the class.
While he is on the radar of multiple programs, it is the SEC that is generating the most interest from the elite guard, as he will now visit John Calipari and the Arkansas Razorbacks this weekend.

Holt has also scheduled official visits to Alabama, Auburn, and Kentucky this fall. The 5-star appears to be all-in on the SEC, as he has made six visits to Auburn already, five to Alabama, two to Georgia, and two to Ole Miss. The Alabama native has also made two trips to Georgia Tech and one visit to Tennessee and Houston.
Louisville learned that one of their top shooting guard targets and 5-star guard Abdou Toure will take an official visit to Providence this weekend, making it clear the Cardinals are running out of options at the shooting guard position in the 2026 class.
