The Louisville football team recently suffered their first loss of the 2025 season, and fans are not taking it lightly. The Cardinals fans went to social media, and many immediately called out head coach Jeff Brohm and USC transfer Miller Moss.

Louisville battled back and forced overtime, but the fans are fuming with the offense and Moss's turnover issue. Through five games, Moss continues to fold when the defense forces pressure, as he has thrown four interceptions, and three of them have been returned for a touchdown. The Cardinals' offensive line has shown no improvement as the season progresses, and the fans are growing increasingly frustrated.

So, with the Cardinals' first loss of the season coming in early October, and to a team many fans believed they should have beaten, what is the fans' mindset? They made it quite clear after the loss. It is officially basketball season.

Louisville fans are ready to turn the page

It is no secret that the University of Louisville is a basketball program, and with Brohm's Cardinals falling to the Virginia Cavaliers, the fans made it clear they are ready to watch some high-level basketball.

This was a heartbreaking loss for the Cardinals' faithful, as many had high expectations for Louisville entering the season. The Cardinals had the third-best odds to win the ACC, and with the whole nation calling Brohm the "quarterback whisperer," they thought he could make Moss an elite quarterback with this high-level offense.

However, Moss and the offensive line have been underwhelming in the Cardinals' biggest games, and now, Louisville appears to have a long shot at making it to the ACC Championship game. Louisville odds dropped from +950 to +3000, prompting fans to turn to the true sport they love.

Pat Kelsey and his Cardinals' first game is on October 24 against Kansas from KFC Yum! Center in an exhibition game. Louisville basketball has +2000 odds to win the 2026 National Championship, and +220 odds to win the ACC.

The Cards' ACC odds are the second-highest, only behind Duke, which has +155 odds to win the conference. This fanbase is all-in on this Kelsey squad, and they have been waiting for the basketball season to start since they landed three top 20 transfers from the 2025 Transfer Portal.

With the football team falling to Virginia, fans became even more eager for the basketball season. Now, they are counting down the days to watch some Cardinals basketball at KFC Yum! Center.
