Louisville football had the No. 31-ranked 2026 recruiting class in college football, landing its highest since 2023, when it ranked No. 23 in the nation. There are many recruits that Louisville football fans are excited about.
The Cardinals were able to land multiple 4-stars, including their top commitment, Jaydin Broadnax, who ranked as high as No. 185 in the nation and No. 23 among cornerbacks. Other notable 4-star recruits include the Cardinals' elite quarterback commitment, Briggs Cherry, who ranks as high as No. 285 in the nation and No. 18 among quarterbacks, but there is one true freshman who is already making noise and impressing Jeff Brohm.

Louisville football's elite true freshman TE turning heads already
The Cardinals 4-star recruit and true freshman Julius Miles has impressed Brohm early, as he is already making noise in the Cardinals tight end room behind 4-star transfer Brody Foley and key returning tight end, Jaleel Skinner.
“We got a true freshman, Julius Miles, who can run, catch, and is a big target,” Brohm stated on Tuesday afternoon. “Man, he is a really good athlete. So, we are going to try and get him on the field early.”
Brohm stating he is going to try and get Miles on the field “early” isn’t a huge surprise, as the 4-star recruit was one of the Cardinals' biggest commitments in the 2026 recruiting class, and he has the capability to make an immediate impact for this Cardinals wide receiver or tight end room.
Miles ranked as a wide receiver and a tight end, as he ranked No. 57 among wide receivers according to 247 Sports, and ranked No. 21 among tight ends according to Rivals. However, Brohm certainly made it sound like he is part of the tight end room, mentioning him behind Skinner and Foley and stating he will need to add a little bit of muscle.
The 6-foot-6, 210-pound tight end is a star in the making after his dominant high school career, as he collected 158 catches for 2,809 receiving yards and 27 touchdowns in his high school campaign. Miles saw his recruiting stock skyrocket this past year after he logged 62 catches for 1,176 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns.
He had five games with 100 yards or more in his senior season, including one game in which he earned nine catches for 201 receiving yards and four touchdowns. Miles committed to Louisville over Power Four programs like Colorado, Arkansas, Vanderbilt, Michigan State, Mississippi State, and many others.
Miles's earning high praise and recognition early on in the Cardinals' offseason is a good sign that the true freshman is trending in the right direction to make an immediate impact his first season with the Cardinals.
