Louisville football has given the 2027 recruiting class its full attention once the month changed from January to February, and it is paying off early. The Cardinals have already landed two commitments in ATH Josiah Pouncy and defensive lineman Cornelius Tims III, and now they are trending in the right direction for yet another 4-star.

Yesterday, Louisville fans learned they made 4-star cornerback and Kentucky native Jordan Haskins' final six, as the elite corner cut his list down. The Cardinals are now in a recruiting battle with Missouri, Illinois, Virginia Tech, Indiana, and Kentucky. Haskins collected over 14 offers, but now that Jeff Brohm and Vince Marrow are one step closer to earning his commitment, the Cards can expect them to amp up their recruiting.

Louisville is the dominant favorite to land Haskins, according to On3 Sports. The recruiting website gives the Cardinals a 44.6 percent chance of earning his commitment, with Missouri the next-closest team at 26.4 percent.

Louisville extended an offer in June 2024, after Kentucky made its offer in May. The two rivals are expected to be in a fierce recruiting battle until Haskins announces his commitment, as the elite cornerback is a top-five recruit out of the state in the 2027 recruiting class. The 5-foot-11, 180-pound cornerback ranks as high as No. 5 among Kentucky recruits, No. 31 among cornerbacks, and No. 290 in the nation.

He is also listed as a safety as the Kentucky native is a standout defensive back for Bryan Station, and 247Sports lists him as high as No. 30 among safeties in the 2027 recruiting class. In 2024, in his sophomore season, he totaled 80 tackles and 4 interceptions, putting his name on many schools' radars.

Haskins has taken multiple visits recently, as he has visited Missouri, Illinois, and Kentucky. Vince Marrow and Louisville also recently stopped by to visit the 4-star. The Cardinals are looking to dominate the state of Kentucky again and the 2027 recruiting class as they aim for Haskins after already landing the top state recruit in Allen Evans.

Evans ranks as the No. 39 overall recruit in the 2027 class and the No. 5-ranked cornerback. Louisville is aiming to build an elite in-state secondary with Evans and Haskins, and it appears they are trending in the right direction. Louisville has also earned three other 4-star commitments in quarterback Jack Sorgi, tight end D’Angelo White, and wide receiver Chuck Alexander Jr.
