Louisville football's roster is set, and the Cardinals fans are eager to see what this team will look like. Jeff Brohm has this Cardinals team in position to contend for the ACC Championship game, as he not only landed 31 players from the Transfer Portal but also avoided nightmare scenarios and convinced Isaac Brown, AJ Green, and Antonio Watts to return.

With the Transfer Portal chaos, the Cardinals had one of the best offseasons in the nation. Louisville's Transfer Portal ranked as high as No. 5 in the nation, according to On3 Sports, as Louisville added five 4-stars and 26 3-stars. ESPN recently put out a list for the "Best college football transfer portal additions for top 25 teams," and with the Cardinals coming in ranked No. 14 in ESPN's way-too-early rankings, they went ahead and listed who they believe will make the biggest impact for Brohm's Cardinals.

When Louisville fans look at their 31 additions, they get excited about many transfers. One clearly stands out from the rest, and that's the Vanderbilt transfer, Tre Richardson.

Tre Richardson is poised to have a massive season for Louisville

Coming over to Louisville from Vanderbilt, Richardson has an incredibly high ceiling and high expectations. The 4-star transfer was a key role in Vanderbilt's offense and was Hesiman candidate: Diego Pavia, No. 1 wide receiver, has elite speed and is one of college football's best deep-ball threats.

"Richardson made the move up from Division II Washburn to the SEC in 2025 and impressed right away as Diego Pavia's leading receiver with 806 yards and seven TDs on 46 catches while also contributing 427 yards as a kickoff returner. He was the No. 4 wide receiver in ESPN's transfer rankings and will have every opportunity to be new Cardinals QB Lincoln Kienholz's go-to receiver in a passing attack that must replace the production of top wideouts Chris Bell and Caullin Lacy."

The Cardinals' offense is expected to be one of the best in the ACC and among the most explosive in college football. With Lacy at wide receiver and Brown at running back, this offense has two players who can make big plays and breakfree for game-changing touchdowns.

The 5-foot-10, 175-pound wide receiver played Division II football before his time at Vanderbilt, where he recorded 52 receptions for 981 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns. He made an immediate impact in the SEC when he went to Vanderbilt for his junior season and had a breakout year in his first season playing Division I football.

Richardson transfers to Louisville after logging a team high 806 receiving yards and seven receiving touchdownds on just 46 catches. With Louisville losing Caullin Lacy, who was the Cardinals' WR2 last year and their elite special teams returner, Richardson will look to help and contribute on special teams, as he earned 427 yards on kickoffs last year.

He is now committed to Louisville as their top commitment this offseason via the Transfer Portal, ranking as high as No. 62 overall and No. 15 among wide receivers.

This Cardinals offense added a lot of skill. It will look different with Lincoln Kienholz at quarterback, Lawayne McCoy and Richardson on the outside, Brody Foley at tight end, and an almost entirely new offensive line. That said, this offense has an incredibly high ceiling, and many believe it can lead Louisville to the ACC Championship, and Richardson is the player everyone can't stop talking about right now.
