Louisville football is 3-0 for its third straight season, but with the Cardinals' first ACC matchup this upcoming weekend, the Cardinals' fans are a bit worried about their injury report.

Cardinals fans are beginning to get more and more worried that Jeff Brohm and his offense might be without their star running backs this upcoming game against Pitt, after missing their game against Bowling Green.

Jeff Brohm spoke to the media on Monday, and with many fans hoping to hear a good update on Isaac Brown and Duke Watson, they, in fact, heard nearly the exact opposite and received more concerning updates that the duo might miss another week, which would be crushing for the Cardinals' Week 5 showdown with Pitt.

Jeff Brohm gives concerning injury update on Louisville's star RB's

Entering the 2025 season, the Louisville Cardinals had one of the best running back rooms in the nation. Isaac Brown and Duke Watson were coming off spectacular true freshman seasons and were anticipated to have a massive breakout season yet again in their sophomore year.

However, this elite duo missed the Cardinals' Week 4 matchup with Bowling Green, and with all eyes on Brohm for his press conference on Monday for an injury update, Louisville fans were left holding their breath and very concerned.

“Both have lower leg injuries that they’re trying to heal up from," Brohm stated Monday. "Hopefully we will get them back, but I will not know until later in the week.”

Brown and Watson were late scratches on Saturday, as Watson was ruled out just minutes before the game, and Brown was ruled to be limited, but saw just two plays during their win over the Falcons.

Now, with the Cardinals' biggest test of the season so far against the Pittsburgh Panthers, the fans are left concerned and wondering if their two offensive stars will play. This Week 5 matchup is crucial for Louisville's ACC Title chances and to put the Cardinals on the map and in the AP Poll's top 25.

Louisville ran all over Pitt last season in a 37-9 dominant victory. Brown and Watson ran for a total of 162 rushing yards, with Brown running for 93 yards on 13 carries and two rushing touchdowns, and Watson earning 11 carries for 69 yards.

Brown has picked it up right where he left off, with 19 carries for 248 rushing yards, three touchdowns, and 13.1 yards per carry. Watson, on the other hand, has just nine carries for 15 yards. Cardinals fans saw Keyjuan Brown step up last game, rushing for 84 yards on 12 carries and scoring two rushing touchdowns. However, with Louisville traveling to Pitt and it being their first ACC game of the season, it would be crucial to have at least one of the Cardinals' star running backs available Saturday.

Louisville fans will keep a close eye on the Cardinals' injury report and updates as the week progresses, but as of now, they are on edge and growing concern that they will be without some key offensive weapons for their Week 5 showdown against Pitt.
