The time is almost here, Louisville football fans. The Cardinals are just days away from their season opener against Ole Miss, and Jeff Brohm just provided great news about their star running back.
Isaac Brown is trending as one of the nation’s top running backs this preseason, as he was named to multiple preseason All-American teams and was recently named the 35th-best player in ESPN’s top 100. Now, just days away from the Cardinals' huge Week 1 showdown with Ole Miss, Brohm provided the update Louisville fans have been waiting to hear.
Jeff Brohm is confident Isaac Brown will play Sunday
Earlier this fall camp, the Cardinals star running back was limited for a bit, raising slight concern among some fans. Brown is coming off a year in which he dominated when he was on the field, but injuries caused setbacks and limited him to eight full games.
Now, just days before the Cards showdown with Ole Miss, Brohm gives an encouraging update on the Cardinals star running back.
“I think Isaac’s ready to go; he’s had a good camp. He’s fresh and ready,” stated Brohm on Brown. “We’ve got a good running back room as well around him that will play also. I feel confident that Isaac is ready to go.”

Brown is trending as a top-five running back in the nation, and it will be crucial that he is 100 percent if the Cardinals want to pull off this upset. Ole Miss is ranked No. 9 in the country and is, of course, coming off a College Football Playoff semifinal run after winning a program-best 13 wins.
Brown has logged 266 carries for 2,057 rushing yards and 18 rushing touchdowns in his two seasons with the Cardinals. He has averaged an eye-popping 7.7 yards per carry, including this past year, when he averaged 8.8 yards per carry after rushing for 100 yards or more in six of his eight games.
Brohm’s update on Brown is certainly encouraging for Cardinals fans, as it gives them more confidence that the Cardinals' offensive star will be available on Sunday. This is the exact update Louisville fans were looking for, and now the Cardinals will try to send a statement to the ACC and college football.
With Brown available, Louisville has a legitimate chance to upset Ole Miss on Sunday. The Cards are currently 6.5-point underdogs to the Rebels, but Brohm has proved time and time again he is the giant killer.
