Jeff Brohm and Vince Marrow's hard work continues to pay off as the Cardinals recently learned their 2027 recruiting class was re-ranked and their seven commitments now have Louisville football ranked No. 5 in the nation. The Cardinals' seven commitments are trending toward making history for Louisville, as the Cardinals have never had a class ranked in the top 20 in the final team rankings.
While it is still early in the recruiting process for the 2027 classes, the names the Cardinals are trending toward show this team isn't slowing down anytime soon. Louisville is in conversations with multiple 4-stars, including in-state stars Cam Wade and Jordan Haskins.
But the list doesn't just stop there, as Louisville fans learned another 4-star is interested in the Cardinals, as Louisville will earn a visit from 4-star ATH Tristin Hughes.

Marrow and Brohm have shown that they prioritize three major states in Kentucky, Florida, and Ohio. Hughes is an Ohio native, as he attends Rocky River High School, located in Rocky River, Ohio.
The 4-star ATH announced on his social media that he will visit Louisville on May 29 for a weekend visit that will last until May 31.

The Cardinals recently extended their offer this January and are in a recruiting battle with multiple Power-Four programs, including Kentucky, which is also scheduled to host a visit over the summer, shortly after he visited Louisville. The 4-star recruit is currently a Syracuse commit, but with Louisville already earning an official visit from Hughes, the Cardinals are turning heads fast.
Hughes is an elite two-way player who logged 1,338 receiving yards and 28 total touchdowns, while logging over 1,900 all-purpose yards, according to his Twitter account. He is also a safety who logged 67 tackles, three interceptions, three pass breakups, and three forced fumbles.
The 6-foot-1, 190-pound 4-star prospect ranks as high as No. 368 in the recruiting class, No. 22 among ATHs, No. 35 among safeties, and No. 13 from Ohio. He has earned over 18 offers, including from Pitt, Wisconsin, West Virginia, Purdue, Arizona State, and others.
The Cardinals have already landed more 4-star commitments in their 2027 class than their 2026 recruiting class, and Hughes would be a huge addition. With the Cardinals already landing Allen Evans, the No. 6-ranked cornerback, and the Cards closing in on Jordan Haskins, a 4-star safety, this secondary has a chance to be elite.
