Jeff Brohm strikes again as Louisville football lands another 4-star over Kentucky

Louisville football wins recruiting battle over Kentucky for in-state 4-star Wide receiver.

Jeff Brohm and Vince Marrow strike again. Louisville football lands its fourth in-state commitment for the 2027 class after local 4-star wide receiver Ja’Hyde Brown committed to the Cardinals Monday afternoon, according to Hayes Fawcett.

The Cardinals earned Brown’s commitment over many Power Four programs after he recently decommitted from Indiana. The 4-star WR received a total of 24 offers, including from Alabama, Auburn, Oklahoma, Kentucky, and many others. Many thought this race was between the two in-state rivals, Louisville and Kentucky, and it is now official that Brohm and Marrow beat Will Stein and the Kentucky Wildcats once again, marking their fourth top-ten in-state commitment.

Jeff Brohm lands local 4-star Ja'Hyde Brown

Brown ranks as high as No. 409 in the 2027 recruiting class and No. 49 among wide receivers. The 5-foot-11, 190-pound wide receiver had an impressive season with Christian Academy of Louisville last season after he earned 98 catches for 1,556 receiving yards and 24 receiving touchdowns.

Brohm has this 2027 class trending toward making history, as Louisville football has never earned a recruiting class in the top 20 of the 247Sports Recruiting Football Team Rankings, and right now the Cardinals are ranked No. 8. Brown’s commitment is Louisville’s fifth 4-star commitment for the class of 2027, and marks the third Kentucky 4-star.

The two other in-state 4-stars Louisville earned commitments for include the No. 2 in-state recruit Allen Evans, and the No. 4 in-state recruit Jordan Haskins.
