The summer months are flying by, which means the college football season is inching closer and closer. Jeff Brohm and Louisville football are expected to be among the top dawgs in the ACC, as Louisville currently has the third-highest odds to win the ACC.
Brohm has a new look on offense, as Ohio State transfer Lincoln Kienholz, 4-star wide receiver Lawayne McCoy, and Tre Richardson will lead him. On defense, he will be led by key returners like Clev Lubin, AJ Green, Stanquan Clark, TJ Capers, and others.
However, despite many picking Louisville as a CFP dark horse this season, the preseason Coaches Poll completely disrespected the Cardinals and gave them bulletin-board material. Louisville was left out of the top 25, which should have Brohm and the Cardinals fired up for the Week 1 showdown with Ole Miss.

Louisville has a massive showdown with Ole Miss in the first week of the season on Sept. 6. The Cardinals and Rebels will be one of the biggest games in the first weekend with the two teams going head to head in the Liberty Mutual Music City Kickoff at the Nissan Stadium in Tennessee.
Louisville has been known as a team that flies under the radar, but the Cardinals being left unranked is shocking and has the Cardinals' fans stunned. Usually, the AP Poll is what fans and TV stations care about, but the disrespect in the Coaches Poll feels like it could be used as motivation for Louisville’s Week 1 showdown.
Not many think the Cardinals are going to win, as ESPN gives Louisville just a 30.9 percent chance to win, and the Cardinals are a 6.5-point underdog. The Ole Miss Rebels are ranked No. 10 in the Coaches Poll, as they are coming off a 13 win season where they made it to the College Football Playoff Semifinal after defeating No. 11-seed Tulane 41–10 and the No. 3 seed Georgia 39-34.
Now, Ole Miss will be led by their two stars and two preseason Maxwell Award watch list members, quarterback Trinidad Chambliss and running back Kewan Lacy. Louisville is going to have its hands full on defense with this elite Ole Miss offense, but the Cardinals are expected to have a dominant defensive line with Lubin, Green, and Tyler Thompson.
A lot of fans are stunned the Cardinals aren’t ranked in the Coaches Poll top 25, but Louisville fans are used to these types of things. Now, the Cardinals are going to be even more motivated to stun college football fans, the Coaches Poll, and Ole Miss in this crucial Week 1 showdown.
Louisville has its eyes on their its CFP birth and a win over Ole Miss would skyrocket those chances.
