Louisville football continues to build its secondary, adding a hidden gem late Tuesday night. While Jeff Brohm has yet to address his role as defensive coordinator, the Cardinals are building their defense, and Brohm has impressed everyone so far. Not only has he been able to add elite recruits and former 4-stars, but he has also recruited from within and retained Clev Lubin, AJ Green, Antonio Watts, TJ Capers, and others.
Louisville added Murray State transfer Dylan Rowsey late Tuesday night, making him the 26th commitment of the offseason so far. Louisville lost multiple key safeties from a season ago, including Corey Gordon Jr., to the Transfer Portal, and Jabari Mack and D'Angelo Hutchinson exhausted their eligibility.

Louisville football lands a hidden gem for its secondary
With the Cardinals needing help in their secondary, Rowsey will bring some much-needed depth. He is coming off a massive season with Murray State after spending his first two seasons at the JUCO level at Itawamba Community College.
Last year, Rowsey had one of the best statistical seasons in college football, earning 139 total tackles for Murray State, which ranked No. 4 in the FCS. Also worth noting is that of his 139 tackles, 89 were solo tackles, which is the most in Division I football.
The newest Cardinal also logged 2.5 tackles for a loss, two interceptions, two forced fumbles, one sack, one pass breakup, and a fumble recovery. His dominant season earned him All-American honors at the FCS level. He commits to Louisville, unranked in the Transfer Portal, but Brohm has found these under-the-radar defensive backs before, and Rowsey feels like he might be one of them after his dominant season last year with Murray State.
Rowsey is the 26th commitment for the Cardinals this offseason and is the second safety Louisville added, along with Iowa transfer Keon Entringer. The Iowa transfer was a big-time splash for Louisville, ranking No. 129 overall and No. 12 among safeties.
Rowsey is the 11th defensive player to commit, and the fourth defensive back, as Louisville added two cornerbacks alongside the two safeties in Kentucky transfer DJ Waller and Texas transfer Santana Wilson.
