Louisville football has landed multiple Kentucky transfers this offseason, as Vince Marrow has brought in four of his former Wildcats recruits. The first commitment the Cards landed this offseason was defensive back DJ Waller, and then shortly after, two edge rushers and brothers, Jacob and Jerod Smith, committed to the Cardinals. And lastly, former 4-star commit and 2024 Mr. Kentucky football, Montavin Quisenberry, also committed to Louisville.

Well, this time things are different. The Cardinals have had 26 players enter the Transfer Portal so far this offseason, and the most recent one was true freshman Brock Coffman. The former Cardinal quickly announced he will commit to Louisville’s in-state rival, the Kentucky Wildcats, making him the first Cardinal to go from wearing red and black to blue and white this offseason.

Former Louisville freshman WR commits to Kentucky

Louisville was able to bring back two key players from last season in TreyShun Hurry and Kris Hughes, and went on to add multiple wide receivers from the portal in Tre Richardson, Lawayne McCoy, Jackson Voth, and Quisenberry. On top of that, Louisville added the No. 3-ranked tight end in the Transfer Portal in Tulsa transfer, Brody Foley.

So, the Cardinals' wide receiver room is quickly filling up, and it doesn’t come as a surprise for the Lexington native to enter the portal and to commit to Kentucky. With Louisville, he only played in four games and earned just six snaps. He was a 3-star commit after logging 89 catches, 1,387 receiving yards, and 24 touchdowns out of Sayre High School.

Coffman ranked as high as the No. 1,661 overall recruit, No. 245 wide receiver, and the No. 18 prospect out of Kentucky in the 2025 recruiting class. The Cardinals' 2026 Transfer Portal class ranks unanimously among the top 15, with their additions ranked No. 13 by 247Sports and their offseason as a whole ranked No. 3 by On3Sports.
