Louisville football has been in the running with multiple wide receivers this offseason. The Cardinals have earned a commitment so far from four receivers, including 4-star Tre Richardson and the most recent one, Jackson Voth. Louisville lost numerous wide receivers from last season, either through the Transfer Portal or due to eligibility.

So, with Jeff Brohm having to replace guys like Chris Bell and Caullin Lacy, the Cards have been in contact with multiple receivers. One of the receivers Louisville was in contact with was the South Carolina transfer, Brian Rowe. The former 4-star receiver entered the portal after his true freshman season, drawing interest from many programs, including Louisville.

The Cardinals got encouraging news from the SEC transfer, who named them to his final five and put them in a recruiting battle with Cal, Virginia Tech, UCLA, and Florida. However, Louisville fans learned yesterday that Rowe will not be a Cardinal as he committed to UCLA.

Rowe was one of the top-ranked wide receivers in the 2025 class after being ranked No. 257 in the class and No. 37 in the wide receiver position. The former 4-star recruit is a North Carolina native and committed to South Carolina over powerhouse programs in Georgia, Miami, Tennessee, Ole Miss, and others.

Rowe went on to haul in 120 catches for 2,332 yards and 31 touchdowns over his final three seasons of high school, and in his senior season he logged 46 catches for 935 yards and 11 touchdowns. In his true freshman season at South Carolina, he showed his potential by earning 19 catches for 149 yards and one touchdown.

Roth was ranked as the No. 54 wide receiver and No.243 overall in the Transfer Portal. The Cardinals were in contact with an elite playmaker in Rowe, but after striking out on the former 4-star, it was reported that Brohm landed the Drake transfer, Jackson Voth. The Drake transfer is a former walk-on at Kansas State who later transferred to Drake, where he was the Bulldogs' WR1.

Voth logged a team-high 51 catches for 500 yards and five touchdowns last season. Louisville is still in contact with multiple receivers, including DeAndre Moore Jr., Darrell Gill Jr., and Lawayne McCoy.
