The Louisville football team is officially on a roll with its winning ways in the 2025 season. The Cardinals improved to 7-1 this past weekend when they traveled to Blacksburg, VA, and left Lane Stadium with a 28-16 win over the Virginia Tech Hokies. Add in upset wins across the ACC, which included the likes of previously undefeated Georgia Tech and the highly respected Miami Hurricanes, and Louisville now finds itself as one of the favorites to win the ACC.

Louisville moved up to No. 14 in the nation in the most recent AP poll after the shakeup of the weekend’s events. This consistent success of the Cardinals has not gone unnoticed, as more and more of the national media are starting to believe in Louisville and Jeff Brohm.

As the weeks continue to progress and Louisville finds new ways to win, the Cardinals are becoming an increasingly popular team to discuss. With the ACC chaos, Josh Pate recently updated his College Football Playoff predictions, and the Cards fans are going to love what they see.

Look no further than the likes of the self-touted “future commissioner of college football”, national media correspondent, and college football talk show host Josh Pate. Josh Pate’s College Football Show has grown quite a following in the national college football media realm, continually accruing more and more listeners as the weeks progress.

Pate himself has been a supporter of Jeff Brohm, especially highlighting and praising the coaching clinic that Brohm showed this season during the upset win over the Miami Hurricanes. He has continually demonstrated respect for the Cardinals' on-field performance and the program that Brohm has built in his three years at Louisville.

Pate took his respect one step further during his show last Sunday, when he reevaluated his preseason College Football Playoff predictions and provided his audience with a new bracket for discussion. With this new bracket, Pate has Louisville as the lone representative for the ACC and enters the bracket as the No. 7 seed.

This would have the Cardinals hosting an on-site opening round game in just the second year of the new playoff format. L&N Stadium hosting a first-round game would bring excitement to the city of Louisville, which the city has never seen before. Additionally, he predicts that they will host Notre Dame. Louisville hosting Notre Dame for a first-round game would allow the Cards to send a massive message about just how elite this program is.

The new confidence that continues to build for the Cardinals is palpable and demonstrates just how far this program has come under the leadership of Brohm. Louisville is back in the national spotlight season after season and has its foot in the door of returning to the ACC Championship for the second time in three seasons. Cardinal fans have a fun November ahead of them, with every hope and dream still in play for the season. Now it's time for Brohm and the Cardinals to take it one week at a time and finish the job.
