Louisville football fans have a lot on their minds right now: the Cardinals are one week away from their bowl game against Toledo, a few weeks away from the Transfer Portal opening, and there are high school recruiting updates. The Cardinals are in the running for multiple high school recruits, but the fans and the city are buzzing around one specific player, Ja’Hyde Brown.
Brown is a Louisville native and a 4-star wide receiver, and the fans are doing everything in their power to try to keep the local superstar home. However, yesterday, Louisville got crushing news after making Brown’s top 10 last week by Rivals expert Steve Wiltfong after he logged a prediction for the 4-star and has Brown going to a Big 10 giant over Louisville.

Louisville football fans get crushing update on 4-star WR
Wiltfong is one of the many respected College football insiders, and when someone with his knowledge makes a prediction, it usually indicates he has heard something that makes him confident enough to make it. The Rivals expert predicted yesterday that the local 4-star wide receiver to commit to the Indiana Hoosiers over Louisville, crushing the Cardinals' fans' dreams.

The Cards learned last week that they made Brown’s top 10 after he cut his list from 25 offers. Louisville is recruiting against Indiana, Alabama, Auburn, Oklahoma State, Kentucky, Wisconsin, Vanderbilt, Oregon State, and Maryland.
However, with Wiltfong logging his prediction for the Hoosiers, it certainly makes it feel like the Cards are losing a lot of momentum in this race. Brown is an elite 4-star recruit who ranks as high as No. 7 in the state, No. 356 in the country, and the 47th best wide receiver in the 2027 class. He plays for Christian Academy of Louisville, where he just broke the school record with 1,556 receiving yards, adding 98 receptions and 24 touchdowns.
There is no commitment timeline for Brown right now, but Vince Marrow and Jeff Brohm will need to act quickly after this update if they want to regain some ground.
