Louisville football is not too far away anymore, Cardinals fans, as the Cards are set to face Ole Miss in just 34 days. Louisville and Ole Miss are going to go head-to-head in a major Week 1 showdown in Tennessee on Sept. 6, where the Cardinals will try to send a major message to the nation that this team is ready to compete for a spot in the College Football Playoffs.
Louisville has been getting a lot of buzz this offseason as a real threat in the ACC and a major dark horse team that could make the College Football Playoffs for the first time in program history. A reason a lot are high on this Cardinals team is because of the additions Jeff Brohm brought in and this elite offense.
Brohm made some major moves this offseason, and one 4-star addition that Louisville fans are excited to see is the Tulsa transfer, Brody Foley.
PFF ranks Louisville transfer as one of the ACC's top returning tight ends
The Cardinals had to rebuild a lot of their offense, including their tight end position. And someone Brohm was able to land and bring to the Cardinals was the 4-star Tulsa transfer and one of the highest-ranked tight ends in the Transfer Portal.
Foley is expected to be a major weapon on the Cardinals' offense, as the 6-foot-6, 260-pound tight end was one of the Cardinals' biggest additions this offseason, as he ranked as high as No. 84 overall in the Transfer Portal and No. 3 among tight ends. PFF recently released a list of returning ACC tight ends with the highest grades from this past season, and the Cardinals' newcomer is No. 2 on the list, with a 72.5 rating.

Louisville fans want Brohm to utilize the tight ends a lot more this season, as last year Jaleel Skinner was the leading receiver from the tight end room with 21 catches. But the hope is that with a playmaker like Foley, Brohm makes the Tulsa transfer a major red-zone threat and someone Lincoln Kienholz can become best friends with on the field.
Last year, Foley earned First-Team All-AAC honors after securing 37 catches for 527 receiving yards and seven touchdowns. The Cardinals fans would absolutely love a season like that from a tight end, as the last time a tight end put up similar stats for Louisville was Marshon Ford in the 2021 season, when he led Louisville in receptions with 49 catches for 550 yards and two touchdowns.
Foley secured at least one reception in 11 of his 12 games this past season and was a major piece in the Golden Hurricanes' offense in their huge upset over Oklahoma State when he logged five catches for 66 yards. Following that big game from Foley, the 4-star transfer would receive a touchdown and at least 40 receiving yards in four of his last seven games this past season.
Louisville football fans want this year to be the year the Cardinals return to the ACC Championship Game and become a real threat in the CFP. For that to happen, Foley needs to get the ball on offense and have a season similar to the one he had at Tulsa. Brohm’s offense could be one of the top offenses in the ACC, and someone who could really make some noise is the 4-star tight end.
