Louisville football set to make final pitch to key 4-star in crucial weekend visit

Louisville football is set to have a massive recruiting weekend again this weekend, as the Cardinals will bring in multiple players who have already committed to the program, as well as a few Louisvile are awaiting announcements.

The Cardinals have been trending in the right direction for the 2026 class, and with the addition of Vince Marrow, the program and the fans have their eyes set on a massive improvement. Marrow is one of the best recruiters in the nation and landed 66 commitments from elite 4-star playmakers during his time with Kentucky.

Well, Louisville football fans hope that number can transfer over to the Cards' as Louisville is hosting one of their top targets in the 2026 cycle, Jayden McGregory.

The 4-star recruit is ranked as high as the No. 396 in the nation and the 26th-best prospect in the ATH skilled position. Rivals has him ranked as the second-best player out of Iowa, putting Louisville in a fierce battle with Iowa State.

McGregory announced in late May his final four schools in, making it clear that this upcoming visit is crucial if Louisville wants to land his commitment. The four schools included in McGregory's list are Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, and Louisville.

The 6-foot-2, 185-pound safety reported that he will make his commitment announcement on July 7. The 4-star prospect currently attends Valley High School and has earned 20 tackles, including one for a loss, 13 pass breakups, and three interceptions.

The Iowa native received over 18 offers and garnered interest from notable programs, including Arkansas, Florida State, Georgia, Michigan, Tennessee, and many others. All made offers to McGregory.

The Cardinals have secured 18 commitments so far in the 2026 cycle, ranking them No. 25 nationally.
