Louisville football is coming off a dominant win over Florida State, as the Cardinals improved to 3-3 with a 44-20 Friday win. Now, Louisville will look to build on that impressive performance and try to reach 4-3 this Saturday against Syracuse.
Louisville’s Isaac Brown just did something no Cardinal has done in 33 years
The two programs have met 21 times, with Louisville leading Syracuse 13-8. Louisville is 7-3 in the last 10 matchups and holds a 6-2 conference record against the Orange. Jeff Brohm and the Cardinals will travel to Syracuse this weekend for their second road game, looking to bounce back after falling 31-28 to NC State in their previous road game.
The Cardinals have revenge on their mind, as the last time these two played, Syracuse dominated UofL, winning 31-7. Now, the hope is for a similar scoreline, but in Louisville's favor. With Week 7 here already, let’s break down some early odds and make a score prediction.

Big Red Louie Predictions
We expect Brohm and Louisville’s run game to travel and to take over for the second straight game. Last weekend's performance showed how dominant Isaac Brown can be, and with Syracuse giving up 144 yards on the ground per game, we expect Brown and company to rush for over 200 yards for the second straight game and lead UofL to its fourth win.
While we do think Louisville wins this game, we actually think Syracuse will cover 13.5. The Orange are playing competitive teams this year, losing by 14 to Pitt and by 3 to Cal and Virginia. The Orange offense has skilled players like running back Tylik Hill and wide receiver Umari Hatcher, who could trouble Louisville's defense if it doesn’t limit big plays on the outside.
A key is forcing Syracuse QB Steve Angeli to throw an interception, as he already has five this year. Put pressure on the QB and capitalize on those takeaways. We see Louisville score first and set the tone early, but Syracuse hangs in there through the first half. After halftime, Louisville takes over for the second straight week, as this explosive offense is too much for Syracuse to handle.
Prediction: Louisville 34 Syracuse 24
