The transfer portal is set to open on Wednesday, April 16, and the Cardinals are starting to find out which players plan to use it. On Saturday, Louisville football took a massive hit when they found out Austin Collins will use the portal on Wednesday and is set on transferring from Jeff Brohm and company.
Louisville is expected to be one of the top contenders in the ACC next year, but they will have to address some glaring concerns, including their wide receiver room. The Cardinals have two elite playmakers on the outside, Chris Bell and Caullin Lacy, but after those two stars, the Cardinals' depth isn't much.
Louisville just found out moments ago from Chris Hummer of 247Sports that the Cardinals will lose their speedy freshman, JoJo Stone, as he plans to transfer this spring.

Louisville football's WR room loses speedy freshman to transfer portal
The Cardinals' wide receiver room continues to get thinner as the speedy freshman JoJo Stone will officially enter the transfer portal on Wednesday. The freshman out of Georgia was ranked as high as a 4-star prospect by Rivals due to his tremendous upside potential. His speed has the potential to be a massive deep ball threat for his future team.
Rivals ranked them as the No. 51 best wide receiver in the class of 2024, while On3 Sports ranked him No. 105, and 247Sports ranked him No. 125. Last season, Stone didn't see much action as a freshman as the 5-foot-11 wide receiver didn't receive any catches and saw just three snaps.

The Cardinals earned Stone's commitment over massive programs like Auburn, Georgia, LSU, Notre Dame, Tennessee, and many more. The speedy freshman ran an impressive 11.32 in the 100-meter dash at the Atlanta Games Invitational in 11th grade and has the tools and skills to be an elite deep ball wide receiver in his collegiate career.
The Cardinals' expansive receiver room is becoming a concern for fans as their depth gets thinner daily. Bell and Lacy are poised to each have a breakout year, and after the Spring Game, it seems Antonio Meeks is set to be WR3, but the Cardinals need some depth in this room, and they must attack some wide receivers and tight ends in the portal.
For all the latest on Louisville football's offseason, stay tuned.
