Louisville basketball learned some good news Tuesday afternoon as they found out they made the top 45 recruits' list after Colben Landrew cut his list down to just 10 schools. The Cardinals extended their offer to Landrew just last month after Pat Kelsey and Thomas Carr attended the 6-foot-6 guard's games at the Adidas 3SSB Palmetto Road Championship.
The consensus 4-star recruit ranks as high as No. 45 in the nation and the No. 9 shooting guard in the 2026 cycle. At 6-foot-6, 210 pounds, he is also ranked as a small forward by 247Sports, as they have him ranked as the No. 25 small forward in the class.

The Cardinals are up against some elite competition for the Georgia native, as Joe Tipton broke the news that the Cardinals made the 4-star updated list. Louisville will now go up against SEC powerhouses in Alabama, Texas, Auburn, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Georgia, Texas A&M, as well as UConn and Purdue.
Louisville basketball's massive recruiting update from 4-star SG Colben Landrew
Louisville received even more excellent news with Landrew, as it was reported that the Cardinals will also receive an official visit on Aug. 28. The Cardinals are one of six programs to earn an official visit. Kelsey will do all that he can to try to earn his first commitment in the 2026 cycle.
Landrew would be an excellent fit for the Cardinals' offense and their dream scenario for next season. The Cardinals' top two targets are clear in Taylen Kinney and Tyran Stokes, and with Landrew having the ability to play shooting guard, he would fit perfectly next to those two 5-stars.
While Louisville has struck out on some key recruits in the 2026 recruiting class, they also received some good news. Louisville has made 5-star guard Ikenna Alozie's top eight, 5-star guard Deron Rippey Jr.'s top 12, 5-star guard Jaxon Richardson's top 10, 5-star guard Taylen Kinney's top 12, 4-star center Arafan Diane's top 12, and 4-star forward Cole Cloer's top eight.
