Louisville basketball is emerging as one of the top recruiting programs in college basketball, and Pat Kelsey is a huge reason why. The energetic head coach has landed multiple 5-stars since arriving at Louisville, including Mikel Brown Jr., the program's second-highest-rated commit, and Obinna Ekezie Jr., the third-highest-rated commit.

Louisville striking out on 5-star King Gibson could be a huge blessing in disguise

Now, he has turned his attention to the 2027 and 2028 recruiting classes. The 2027 cycle is getting a lot of attention, and the Cardinals are on multiple updated 5-star recruiting lists, including No. 1 overall recruit CJ Rosser and No. overall recruit DeMarcus Henry. As for the 2028 recruiting class, it is still extremely early, but Kelsey and UofL have their eyes on a top-50 overall recruit, and Cardinals fans are very familiar with him and his game.

Josh Lindsay takes unofficial visit to Louisville

Cardinals fans have been all-in on 4-star guard Josh Lindsay, and Kelsey is clearly pushing for the athletic guard as he makes another unofficial visit to Louisville this weekend.

Louisville has hosted Lindsay for multiple unofficial visits, including the Cardinals' exhibition game against Kansas this past season. The 4-star shooting guard is among Kelsey’s top targets in the 2028 recruiting class, and he's gone viral for his ability to soar through the air and finish at the rim with a monster slam.

The 6-foot-2 guard has heard from multiple programs since the contact period opened up, including North Carolina, Auburn, Missouri, USC, Iowa, Notre Dame, Oklahoma State, Utah, Boston College, Xavier, and Western Kentucky. In addition to being contacted, the Louisville native has already earned over 10 offers, including from Auburn, Oklahoma State, Virginia Tech, and others.

Lindsay currently attends St. Xavier and is coming off a season in which he averaged 14.0 points and 3.8 rebounds per game. The Louisville native has blown Cardinals away with multiple impressive dunks, including this offseason, when Lindsay showed off his eye-popping hops with the Mokan Elite at the Nike EYBL Peach Jam.

Lindsay is a consensus 4-star recruit in the 2028 recruiting class, ranks as high as No. 35 overall in the 2028 cycle, and No. 5 among combo guards. The St. X product is the unanimous No. 1 overall recruit out of Kentucky, and Louisville is showing strong interest in bringing the Louisville native back for an unofficial visit and the Florida State game on Friday night.

It is still early in Lindsay's recruiting process, but with his junior season approaching quickly, Louisville is making some noise about the local 4-star shooting guard.
