Louisville football currently has a top-30 class in the 2027 recruiting cycle, and Jeff Brohm and Vince Marrow are trying to make a last-second push for an elite 4-star recruit. The Cardinals have only had two recruiting classes finish inside the nation's top 25 after signing day, and with Cardinals fans keeping an eye on this milestone, Louisville's recent push for Monsanna Torbert Jr. would be a huge addition.
It won't be an easy target to land, but the Cardinals have emerged in the running for the 4-star. The battle was between two Big Ten powerhouse programs, Michigan and Ohio State, but Rivals reported that Louisville and Brohm entered the race, making it now a three-team battle.
So, with the Cards involved with Torbert, Louisville fans are trying to keep up with his recruiting process. And recently, it was reported that there is a growing favorite, but also a commitment date set.
Decision date set for elite 4-star CB Monsanna Torbert Jr.
It was a bit of a shock to many that Brohm and company entered the race, but Louisville is looking to land another dominant 4-star cornerback. The Cardinals are trying to secure their second 4-star CB commitment of the 2027 class, and it appears they will learn on July 1 whether they have his commitment.

The Cardinals are picking up some momentum with the 4-star as 247Sports has "warm" next to their name, along with Michigan and Ohio State. Torbert was an Indiana commit, but after his commitment, he earned many more offers, including from Louisville, Ohio State, and Michigan.
The Cards haven't earned an official visit like the other Big 10 Powerhouses, which certainly makes it feel like they are behind the Wolverines and the Buckeyes. Michigan earned its visit this past weekend, over June 19th, and Ohio State had the 4-star on campus the weekend before, on June 12.
Michigan is trending as the favorite at the moment, as On3's Allen Trieu and Ethan McDowell recently predicted the Wolverines' victory shortly after the 4-star visited Ann Arbor. If Louisville wants to shock Michigan and Ohio State fans and land the 4-star, a visit in the coming weeks would be huge before his decision.
Louisville has already landed 4-star Allen Evans, who is one of the top-ranked cornerbacks in the class, and now it appears the Cardinals are trying to pair Evans with Torbert. The two 4-stars are ranked right next to each other as Evans is ranked as high as No. 76 in the nation, No. 9 among cornerbacks, and No. 2 from Kentucky, while Evans ranks as high as No. 70 in the 2027 cycle, No. 10 among cornerbacks, and No. 3 among recruits from Ohio.
