Louisville’s Mikel Brown Jr. just fired the first shot at Kentucky for next season

Louisville basketball's 5-star commit Mikel Brown Jr. is currently trying out for the USA Men’s U19 National Team out in Colorado Springs, Colo. The future Cardinals' star point guard learned he made the next round, as the camp is now down to just 18 players.

Brown was one of 33 players invited to this elite camp at the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Training Center. The camp began on June 14 and won't end until the coaches select their 12-man roster.

Before the most recent cut, the Kentucky Wildcats got a nice taste of what's to come next season, as Brown scared Kentucky and their fans with this viral highlight from the camp.

The Cardinals' 5-star commitment put the whole nation on notice with his athleticism and play-making ability, as Brown just baptized Kentucky's commit, Malachi Moreno, with a thrilling dunk.

Moreno is a 4-star commit from the 2025 cycle and is ranked No. 28 in the nation and the best center in the class. He stands tall at 7 feet and is 210 pounds, but this viral clip shows that he is no match for the 6-foot-3, 175-pound guard.

Brown just gave Kentucky a sneak preview of what is to come on Nov. 11 at KFC Yum! Center. The Cardinals' point guard is ranked as high as the second-highest commit in Louisville basketball history, according to 247Sports' rating. He is ranked as high as the No. 1 point guard and the second-best player out of Florida. Nationally, he is ranked No. 7 in the country.

Louisville's 5-star commit can lead this program to its first National Championship since 2013. The Cardinals will have a thrilling schedule next season, but the most anticipated matchup is with the Wildcats.
