There has been complete and utter chaos in college football this season, and the biggest topic of it all is the coaching carousel. Penn State, LSU, Florida, Auburn, and many others are without the head coach they started with in the 2025 season, as they all fired their coach after an underwhelming season.
Louisville football's Jeff Brohm is a name that many Penn State and LSU fans tried to link as a top target, but ON3 Sports just reported the massive news Cardinals fans have been anxiously awaiting. On3 Sports reports that Louisville and Brohm are working together to give him a much-needed pay raise and a much-needed extension, ending any rumors that he would leave for a bigger program.

Jeff Brohm getting much deserved pay raise and extension
Brohm has consistently demonstrated throughout his coaching career that he is one of the best coaches in college football, yet for some reason, he has often been underrated. Brohm led Purdue to beat the No. 2 and No. 3 teams in the nation in 2021 and earned the Boilermakers' first Big Ten West title, and since his arrival at Louisville, he has only broken records. In his first season, Louisville won 10 games and made the program's first ACC Championship game, and after last season's nine-win year, it is the most wins in two combined seasons since 2013 and 2014.
Brohm, as of now, is the 43rd highest-paid head coach in college football, and with his resume, he has naturally emerged as a top target for Penn State, LSU, and Florida. However, Josh Heird and his team are reportedly looking to give him a much-needed pay raise and put an end to any conversation about him leaving.
Brohm is having another successful season despite their recent loss to Cal. The Cardinals fans know they have one of the best coaches in college football, as Brohm's resume stands out like a sore thumb. He has an impressive 4-2 record against top-five teams since 2018, including his massive win over Miami this season.
This was long overdue for Brohm to receive his raise and extension, and now that it looks like he will finally receive it, hopefully, he can take Louisville to the next step and help them earn their first ACC Title.
