Louisville football takes on Georgia Tech this Saturday as the Cardinals are trying to make a push toward the ACC Championship Game. Louisville’s 2026 season has been a bit of a roller coaster, as the Cards were once ranked as high as No. 16 after starting 2-1, including a huge Week 3 win over SMU.
Louisville might be without a key weapon for longer than expected
However, after that win, Louisville dropped their next two games, putting them at 2-3 on the season and 1-2 in conference play. Since that early skid, Brohm and Louisville have won three straight and are trying to climb back into the race.
However, the race to Charlotte is an uphill battle, as Louisville currently sits in third place in the conference, but the top two teams look like they have a clear path to the ACC Championship Game.
Louisville has the fourth highest odds to make ACC Championship Game
Louisville’s two-game skid really put the Cardinals in a hole in the ACC race, as one of those losses was to one of the conference's top teams, Wake Forest. Miami and the Demon Deacons have steamrolled their conference play, with Miami sitting No. 1 in the nation and No. 1 in the ACC at 8-0 and 6-0 in conference, while Wake Forest sits at 7-1 and 5-1 in conference.

While Louisville is making an impressive run and has won three straight, their loss to Wake Forest is making it extremely hard for them to return to Charlotte. Earlier this year, UofL lost to Wake Forest at home, 30-27, and with the Demon Deacons winning every game since their loss to Miami, the Cards desperately need some help.
As we enter Week 10, Louisville sits in third place, but they have the fourth-highest odds to make it to Charlotte. UofL currently has +1100 odds to reach the ACC Championship Game, according to FanDuel.
As for the favorites, Miami is pretty much a lock to make it with -20000 odds, and Wake Forest is in second with -300 odds. Wake Forest plays Merrimack this week, then they play at SMU, at Georgia Tech, and at home vs. Duke.
Louisville must win out to stay in this race, and Wake Forest must lose two more conference games. When looking at Wake Forest’s schedule, Louisville fans quickly notice the odds are stacked against them, as ESPN Analytics gives the Demon Deacons a 62% chance to beat SMU, a 91% chance to beat Georgia Tech, and a 75% chance to beat Duke.
The season is quickly entering its final stretch, and FanDuel and ESPN Analytics are sending a loud message to Louisville. Cards fans entered the season with lofty expectations, and to meet them, they now need some chaos in the final weeks.
