Louisville football takes on the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets this Saturday as the Cards look for their fourth straight win. Last weekend, the Cardinals' offense fired in the second half, scoring 21 points in the third quarter, and Isaac Brown ran for a 75-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter.
Louisville football vs. Georgia Tech: how to watch, odds, injuries, more for Week 10 matchup
Now, UofL’s explosive offense will take on Georgia Tech’s defense, which has struggled a lot this year. The Yellow Jackets are just 2-6 in 2026, including 1-4 in conference games, and sit in last place in the ACC.
As we inch closer to this game, the Cardinals and Yellow Jackets both release their injury reports, and one name that definitley caught the Cardinals' fans' eyes was Lawayne McCoy.
Lawayne McCoy listed as Questionable for Saturday
The Cardinals secured their third straight win without one of their top receivers, as McCoy missed the game with a knee injury. McCoy has been one of Louisville’s top offensive weapons in 2026, as the Florida State transfer has made an immediate impact in Jeff Brohm’s offense.
However, earlier this week, Louisville got a concerning update, as a report came out that the 4-star receiver “will be out ‘an extended period’ with a knee injury,” according to William McDermott. And now he is listed as questionable just days before the game.

On Saturday, Brohm was asked about McCoy’s injury and he added that the timetable is “unknown”, but also that he doesn’t think he will be back “real soon”.
"I don't think it requires surgery, but we have to get it healed," stated Brohm. "So the timetable is kind of unknown now. I don't anticipate him coming back real soon, but we'll see what he can do."
So, based on Brohm’s answer and McDermott’s report, it isn’t shocking to hear McCoy is questionable heading into this Week 10 clash. The Florida State transfer is having a huge season through his first seven games, earning 25 catches for 513 yards and four receiving touchdowns.
McCoy and Tre Richardson were an elite receiver duo for Brohm and Lincoln Kienholz, but with McCoy possibly being out for the second straight week, UofL will need another big game from Richardson. Last week in the Cards' win over Stanford, Richardson stepped up big time, as the Vandy transfer secured a season-high 140 receiving yards after catching 10 passes.
With Louisville needing to win out to have any chance of a berth in the ACC Title Game, McCoy and his health will be vital down the stretch. Right now, Louisville should be fine against Georgia Tech, but with big games coming up against UNC, Pitt, and Kentucky, this is one to watch.
