Louisville has officially secured its biggest win in the Jeff Brohm era with an upset win over No. 2 Miami, 24-21. While the Hurricanes made it a close one towards the end, the Louisville defense secured the win with its fourth interception of the night.

Miami quarterback Carson Beck has been putting up career numbers so far this season and led the Hurricanes to a 5-0 start, but he made one of his truer appearances against the Cardinals, with four interceptions and 271 yards with no touchdown passes.

The Louisville defense really had an answer for Beck, as he had only thrown three interceptions in five games and surpassed that total in just one against the Cardinals. Brohm really had his defense ready to go for this matchup, especially playing in a visitor stadium where the crowd certainly wasn't on their side.

Beck's fourth interception happened with just over 30 seconds left in the fourth quarter as the Hurricanes were driving to either tie the game and send it into overtime, or try and score a touchdown to win it with no time left on the clock.

However, Louisville drew up a blitz on the right side against Beck, and feeling the pressure, he passed the ball just early enough for T.J. Capers to cut the route short and make an acrobatic catch for the interception.

This win snapped Miami's 10-game home win streak, and it was the first win for Louisville over a Top 10 opponent on the road for the first time in program history. This is a big win for the program and especially for Brohm in his third season back with the Cardinals. Brohm has a history of winning against Top 5 opponents as he is now 4-2 in that category.

Even with the extra week of preparation with the bye week before this game, it wasn't enough for Miami to take down the Cardinals. Louisville has now handed the Hurricanes their first loss of the season, making the ACC a lot more interesting.
