The Cardinals are reportedly going all-in this offseason, as Jeff Brohm is pursuing some of the biggest names in the Transfer Portal. The portal is open this offseason from January 2 until the 16th, and in the past couple of days, it is clear that Louisville football is going to go get a quarterback from the portal. While some fans hoped to develop Deuce Adams and make him a starter this upcoming season, with the big-time names already in the portal, the Cards have made it clear they want a quarterback for the fourth straight season.
Over the past couple of days, college football fans have seen elite quarterbacks enter the portal, and yesterday, Pete Nakos reported that the Cardinals are in contact with two of the biggest names. According to Nakos, Louisville is trying to replace starter Miller Moss from the portal this offseason, and the Cards have already been in contact with Nebraska transfer Dylan Raiola and Florida transfer DJ Lagway.

Louisville football reportedly in contact with DJ Lagway and Dylan Raiola
Louisville is quickly becoming one of the top spots in the nation for big-time quarterbacks, as in Brohm’s three seasons, he has been labeled the quarterback whisperer. Brohm has brought in a transfer quarterback each year, and he turned two of them into NFL quarterbacks. The Moss experiment didn’t work like the first two, but if Louisville can bring in a quarterback like Raiola or Lagway, this fanbase should be ecstatic.
These two quarterbacks each have their own flaws, but the fact of the matter is the potential for both is through the roof, and the fans would have to trust Brohm to make them elite quarterbacks. Both are former 5-star recruits in the 2024 class and were both ranked as the top seven players in the nation. Louisville having a player of that caliber is something the fans have been dreaming of for a long time.
Now, it is reported that Brohm and this program are going big, having reached out to both elite QBs and two of the best transfers this offseason. Raiola is ranked No. 2 on the portal right now, while Lagway is ranked No. 3. It is going to be huge recruiting war to try and earn one of these 5-star commitments, but if Brohm can get Raiola or Lagway to Louisville then the Cardinals fan would get one of their dream quarterbacks not just for next season but possibly two seasons depending on if they enter the NFL Draft.
Louisville being in the mix for both elite quarterbacks is a dream scenario for Cardinals nation, and now, with the portal opening just a few weeks away, the Cardinals fans are hoping Brohm can work some magic and land a massive splash.
