Louisville basketball fans got to watch their first-round pick MIkel Brown Jr., last night in his third NBA Summer League game. The former Cardinal was the first Louisville basketball player drafted in the first round since Donovan Mitchell was selected in the 2017 NBA Draft.

Brown was drafted No. 6 overall by the Brooklyn Nets, and in his three games this summer, he has continued to impress Nets fans. Brown was dominant in his first two games, averaging 31.6 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 7.0 assists per 36. The former Cardinal scored 20 points in his first game in just 22 minutes and 16 points in his second game in just 19 minutes.

Now, in his third game, he struggled a little bit, finishing with 14 points, but there was one shot that the Nets were drooling over with excitement for the upcoming season.

Louisville's Mikel Brown Jr. continues to impress this summer

Last night, Brown finished with 14 points on 3-of-15 shooting from the field and 3-of-10 shooting from beyond the arc. The former Cardinal struggled against the Rockets' physicality and height, but the Nets fans aren’t too worried.

The former 5-star freshman showed some positivity in last night's game, including multiple shots from beyond the arc. To start the game, Brown nailed a 3-pointer well beyond the arc, once again showing off his limitless range. However, the one play Nets fans are left talking about following the Summer League game last night was this nasty sequence from Brown.

The former Cardinal caught the pass at the top of the arc, did one dribble into a quick between-the-legs, and followed with a nasty step back and hit nothing but net. Watch this filthy move below.

This insane play is what Nets fans are so excited for, and the former Cardinal has had multiple plays that leave fans speechless. Yes, Brown didn’t shoot the way he wanted to, or the Nets fans would have liked, but the former Cardinal is still getting adjusted to that next level of competition.

Brown had a few games like that, the Rockets game this past season with Louisville, and he would often bounce back. Nets fans shouldn’t be too worried about the final numbers from their No. 6 overall pick, but they should be zoned in on the potential Brown shows in plays like this elite move from last night.

Brown has the ability to be an elite scorer at the NBA level, and he will need to improve in a few things to get there, but this filthy move against the Rockets last night should have the Nets fans feeling confident about their selection.
