Louisville football fans learned crushing news on Monday that their star linebacker, Stanquan Clark, is going to be sidelined for the remainder of the season. The Cardinals' defense took a massive blow by losing Clark for the remainder of the season, but the Cardinals' offense might have earned huge news.
Louisville's starting tight end, Nate Kurisky, is most likely good to go for Saturday, and the Cardinals fans will finally see this offense in full swing. Kurisky missed the first two games of the 2025 season with a hand injury, but according to Jeff Brohm, the tight end should be on the field Saturday afternoon.

TE Nate Kurisky crucial injury update
After learning about Clark, this Cardinals fan base needed some good news, and Kurisky's update was exactly that. Louisville's offense has struggled at times through the first two weeks, and with a player who brings veteran leadership and knows the system well, Kurisky could be the jolt this offense desperately needs.
"Nate should be back this week, which will be good," Brohm stated Monday morning. "I think that is a position where he does have experience on our offense. He's been there and he's played in it quite a bit, so getting him back will be a good addition."
The Cardinals getting Kurisky back in Week 3, right before Louisville's first ACC showdown in Week 4, is massive. The tight end can get some reps in and get rid of the rust before Louisville's crucial ACC opener against Pitt next week.
Kurisky is coming off a sophomore campaign where he logged 12 catches for 112 receiving yards and three touchdowns. The 6-foot-3, Leesburg, Virginia, native had a standout freshman season where he earned 18 catches for 141 receiving yards and two touchdowns. The Cardinals might get a big-time red-zone target back at the perfect time.
The Cardinals get their starting tight end back, but they lost their star linebacker, Stanquan Clark, for the rest of the season. The only other player on Louisville's injury report is Trevonte Sylvester, and Brohm did not give an update on him yet.
