On Monday evening, Louisville basketball landed its third commitment from the 2026 recruiting class after 4-star wing Boyuan Zhang committed to the Cardinals. Zhang is an elite scorer in the 2026 recruiting class and has surged in the rankings recently, and will likely be a major piece off the bench for Kelsey this upcoming season.
Pat Kelsey’s monster offseason continues with Louisville’s latest 4-star addition
The 6-foot-8, 220-pound wing can score in multiple ways, ranking second in the Nike EYBL Scholastic League after averaging 20.2 points per game. He transferred to Veritas Academy from China after averaging 14.7 points and 5.1 rebounds per gam in the FIBA U19 World Cup last summer.
Louisville fans are thrilled to see the 4-star commit to Louisville, but once the Cardinals saw his commitment video, he immediatley became a fan favorite and someone impossible not to root for.
Louisville fans absolutely love Boyuan Zhang's amazing commitment video
The 4-star recruit posted a video on social media, and the Cardinals fans immediatley are rooting for him as the video shows his path and his journey.

This video is the ultimate feel-good commitment video. Louisville fans watch and smile ear to ear, as the 4-star commitment is excited to compete at the highest stage, but is also clearly motivated to grow and develop with Kelsey and Louisville.
The 6-foot-8 wing is from China, but as he stated in the video, he wanted to compete against the best players in his age group. And so after a dominant FIBA U19 run last summer, he transferred to Veritas Academy and made an immediate name for himself.
The 4-star has the ability to score off the dribble and use his size to attack the rim, but also can be a lights-out shooter, as Jaime Shaw reported he is a “real-shooter.” Zhang will have a path to earn real minutes this upcoming season and be Karter Knox's true backup, and after Louisville fans watch this commitment video, he is already earning some fan-favorite votes.
The Cards needed another true wing for this Final Four quest, and Zhang’s video shows he has the heart and the potential to be a big part of this upcoming season.
Zhang commits to Louisville after receiving over 9 offers, including from Oregon, Illinois, Minnesota, and Cal, and taking official visits to all four programs before his visit to Louisville this past weekend. The 4-star ranks No. 46 overall in the 2026 recruiting class and No. 20 among small forwards.
