Louisville basketball fans are keeping a close eye and following all the news and updates surrounding the 5-star power forward, Milan Momcilovic. The Iowa State transfer is the top remaining transfer, and the Cardinals and Pat Kelsey are considered one of the frontrunners for the 5-star.

However, Louisville is slightly behind its in-state rival, the Kentucky Wildcats, for the 5-star, as many reporters and analysts are labeling Kentucky the leader of the race. The battle for Momcilovic is down to three schools, with the Cardinals competing against Kentucky and Arizona. Louisville fans just got a report that the Momcilovic decision is in, and now they will anxiously await.

Louisville recently had a Zoom call with the 5-star power forward, and now, just a day later, a Kentucky insider reports that the decision has been made and that both Louisville and Kentucky have been informed.

Now, this hasn’t been officially confirmed by anyone from 247Sports, On3 Sports, or anyone else, but if it is, the commitment announcement is coming sooner rather than later. Cardinals are anxiously awaiting the decision, and while some make it clear they don’t think Louisville needs Momcilovic for its title push, the Cardinals would get a massive boost if he chose Louisville.

Momcilovic was the best 3-point shooter this past season, making a Division I basketball-high 136 3’s while shooting 48%.7 percent from beyond the arc, which also marked the best in Division I basketball.

The Cardinals and Kelsey are considered one of the top teams in this race, and it was reported yesterday that Louisville kept their offer the same, which is slightly less than Kentucky’s, making it clear they are offering the chance to win a National Title. As of right now, Louisville is ranked in multiple sources' way-too-early top ten, and if Momcilovic were to commit to the Cards, they would emerge as a true National Title threat.

So, the Cardinals are trying to offer similar money, but slightly less, but pitch that if he comes to the Cardinals, he would have a much higher chance at the National Title than if he were to go to Kentucky.

Matt Norlander stated he thinks Momcilovic will announce his decision before Monday, so this report by the Kentucky insider would align with Norlander’s prediction, and so now, Louisville fans will just have to wait.
