Louisville basketball recently learned massive news from one of Pat Kelsey's top targets, Colben Landrew. The Cardinals have updated their recruiting list, as they are competing for the 4-star recruit's commitment against Purdue, UConn, Texas A&M, Ole Miss, and Mississippi State.

Kelsey has made multiple visits to watch Landrew and express his interest in the 4-star recruit, and it has clearly paid off so far. But now, after striking out on the No. 1 point guard and the Kentucky native Taylen Kinney, the fans feel a bit of pressure to land Landrew.

Louisville and UConn are considered the two favorites in this race, but Mississippi State and Ole Miss are making a push that is beginning to worry many Louisville fans. This commitment is now just two days away, and Louisville fans are holding their breath as the deadline approaches.

Louisville's top target commitment announcement is Oct. 15

Landrew also announced that he will make his commitment announcement this week, on October 15, meaning Louisville is two days away from learning if they landed one of their top targets. Louisville has yet to earn a commitment from the 2026 class, and if it can land Landrew, the dream is that many recruits will follow.

The Cardinals hosted Landrew for an official visit in August, and then they made in-house visits and watched him play in a game as well. With Tyran Stokes signing with Nike, and many fans believing the Cardinals are on the outside looking in, Landrew has quickly emerged as Louisville's No. 1 target.

It won't be easy, but it is possible, and even likely. Louisville and Landrew continue to grow their relationship, and Kelsey has made it clear he is their guy. The 4-star ranks as high as the No. 3 shooting guard in the class and No. 26 in the nation.

Cardinals fans will be watching Landrew and the updates closely over the next couple of days, and hopefully, when October 15 arrives, he will be wearing a Cardinals hat.
