Louisville basketball is heavily involved in the 2027 recruiting class, as Pat Kelsey has already landed two commitments and earned visits from big-time players. Recently, the Cardinals hosted an unofficial visit from 5-star recruit and the No. 1 overall recruit in the nation, CJ Rosser, and now it is being reported that Kelsey and the Cards are heavily involved with another 2027 5-star recruit.
DeMarcus Henry is one of the top prospects in the 2027 recruiting class, and Sam Kayser recently reported that Louisville is in an early recruiting battle for the 5-star prospect. The Cardinals are actively recruiting Henry, according to Kayser, and they are in a heated recruiting battle with BYU, USC, Michigan, Ohio State, Tennessee, UCLA, and LSU.

Henry is a consensus 5-star recruit who ranks as high as No. 12 in the nation, No. 3 among small forwards, and No. 2 from the state of Arizona. The 6-foot-8, 190-pound forward attends Compass Prep and has already earned over 13 offers, including from Ohio State, LSU, Oregon, USC, and others.
Before his time at Compass Prep, he played his sophomore season with Mater Dei, averaging 14.8 points, 6.9 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 1.5 steals per game. He has now stepped it up even more for Compass Prep in his junior season, where he is averaging 15.9 points, 7.6 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 2.6 steals, and 0.8 blocks per game, according to MaxPreps
The Cardinals are in the early running for multiple 5-stars, as Kayser also recruited Louisville and is reaching out to 5-star Moussa Kamissoko. The 6-foot-8, 180-pound forward ranks No. 4 overall and No. 1 among small forwards. Kayser reported Kamissoko is "hearing the most from" Louisville, Oklahoma State, Arkansas, Auburn, North Carolina State, Virginia, and Penn State.
The Cards have already logged two commitments in the 2027 recruiting class with 4-star and Louisville native Ferlandes Wright and 3-star recruit Isaac Ellis. The Cards will look to pick up a big-time prospect in the 2027 class, as they appear to be trending in the right direction with a few of them.
