Louisville basketball fans learned Saturday afternoon that the third Cardinal will enter the Transfer Portal. Cardinals Sports reported that former 4-star commit Mouhamed Camara will plan to enter the Transfer Portal. The former 4-star has a high ceiling, as the true freshman was a hidden gem commitment by Pat Kelsey last offseason, but it appears he will never suit up for Louisville and will enter the transfer portal next week.

Louisville's true freshman Mouhamed Camara will enter Transfer Portal
Camara committed to Louisville in May 2025 after playing in multiple tournaments for the NBA Academy Africa. The 2025 4-star commit is an elite two-way player, but never actually played for Louisville after redshirting his true freshman season.
The 6-foot-8, 225-pound forward turned heads last offseason when Kobe Rodgers put Camara on everyone’s radar by saying he showed flashes of being a “special player.”
"I would say Mo," Rodgers stated last offseason on who is raising his eyebrows. "Everybody knew he was an athletic freak coming in, but a simple couple plays that he made in the two or three live practices that we had, just kind of puts you in awe, and just like wow. Once he cleans up some parts of his game and gets more consistent on his shot, which everybody has to do, but Mo has just shown bursts of a special player in the making."
Louisville fans were hoping to see Camara in a Cardinal uniform, especially since Khani Rooths will also enter the Transfer Portal. Camara was trending to potentially be a key piece in Kelsey’s rotation as the forward is an “elite defender”, according to Kelsey.
Camara averaged 10.7 points, 7.1 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 2.8 steals, and 2.5 blocks per game, while shooting 60.0% from the field and 37.5% from beyond the arc in the events with the NBA Academy Africa.
The Transfer Portal will officially open on Tuesday, April 7, and will remain open until April 21. Camara is the third Cardinal to enter the portal, as Rooths and Sananda Fru are reportedly entering the portal as well.
