2024 Week 4 12-team College Football Playoff rankings prediction

While the Louisville football team had a bye this week, there was some movement in the College Football Playoff conversation.

The Louisville football team sat out this past week with a bye week. They are ready to get back at this week against Georgia Tech. The Cardinals are ready to show that their offense isn't a fluke against the best team they've played so far this season. They're getting close to being in the CFP race.

While they were at home getting some rest this week, other squads in the CFP conversation were in action, and that caused some movement in this week's prediction. The Louisville Cardinals are ready to pounce if some teams falter and lose some games to bad teams.

This past week wasn't a great slate of games, but we did learn some things, specifically about the SEC. We learned that Georgia isn't the juggernaut that everyone thought they were. Missouri won the only matchup of top 25 teams, but I'm still not sure how good they are.

Georgia's struggle with Kentucky shows that they are not the best team in the SEC. Texas has the best win of anyone in that conference. Even though Quinn Ewers is going to miss some time, this team is built around him well. Arch Manning is pretty good too.

Speaking of the SEC, I am a Missouri hater. I don't think they are that good despite what they did to Boston College. Quite frankly, they should have lost. I think they will lose three or four games this year so that's why they still aren't in my top 12 even after beating a top-25 team.

Northern Illinois makes the other big move this week. After watching Notre Dame pound Purdue, that win over the Fighting Irish gives the Huskies the keys to being the Group of 6 team that makes the CFP. They are clearly the best team in the MAC.

Louisville is sitting just outside the top 12 for me. I need to see how they look against a decent team first.
