The Louisville football team needs some help at the wide receiver position. Following the news that Caullin Lacy will miss the first month of the season, they are now stuck in a position to play receivers who don't have much experience. That's not ideal for a new starting quarterback.

Strangely, it seems like help could be on the way. Part of the reason why the Cardinals don't have that many receivers with experience on the roster is because they had several departures. One of those departures has suddenly returned and has re-enrolled in the University of Louisville.

Ahmari Huggins-Bruce transferred to South Carolina in the offseason. He seemed to think that the Gamecocks could offer him something that the Louisville Cardinals couldn't. He's no longer with South Carolina and is now confirmed to be re-enrolled at Louisville.

Ahmari Huggins-Bruce could give the Louisville football team a boost

So Huggins-Bruce is back at the university. But he returns just over a week before the season starts. How does he even get back on the team? What does the process of something like that look like? This is something that hasn't happened before. There's no blueprint or process to follow.

Because of that, it's too early to determine if Huggins-Bruce is going to give the Cardinals anything at all this season. He may have to sit out a year while the NCAA sorts out his eligibility. In that case, he wouldn't solve the Cardinals' wide receiver issues at all.

If Huggins-Bruce is able to play this season, it would be a big boost to them. While he's not some big-play home-run hitter, he gives that group some continuity. He's not going to go for 1,000 receiving yards or something, but he's someone who can help while Lacy recovers.
