The Louisville football team has some solid pass-catchers on the roster. While they are replacing their starting quarterback from last year, the Cardinals should still have plenty of guys who can help out the new starting quarterback. They are hoping to improve on their 236 pass yards per game they had a year ago.

Louisville knows that if they are going to make another run at the ACC Championship Game, they need to throw the ball well. The run game might be the focal point of the offense early in the season, but we all know Jeff Brohm likes to throw it around as well.

One particular receiver for the Louisville Cardinals has been given recognition above the rest. That is Caullin Lacy. Lacy was on the preseason watchlist for the Biletnikoff Award, which is given to the best pass-catcher in the country. He is the only Louisville player on the list.

Lacy was the top receiver for South Alabama a year ago. Lacy had 91 catches for 1,316 yards and 7 touchdowns last season. He was clearly the number one option for them and should be for Louisville year. They are hoping to increase his touchdown numbers this season.

In every game that the Cardinals play this season, Lacy will be getting a lot of attention. The Cardinals are going to have to find some other receivers to take the attention away from him who can produce as well. Louisville feels good about that though and Brohm thinks he can put some guys in good spots to succeed.

Lacy is going against some tough receivers to win this award. I don't expect him to win it or even be a finalist for it. Still, it's nice to be recognized as one of the best pass-catchers in college football.
