The Louisville football team is taking on SMU this weekend as they try to get back in the win column. After falling to Notre Dame last weekend in South Bend, they play their second ACC game of the season. It's a game that they need to win if they want to accomplish their goals.

Louisville can still win the ACC. They have to win games like this, though. SMU isn't the best team in the ACC, although they aren't bad. Beating these middling teams is necessary to get towards that goal. Jeff Brohm is still trying to build this program into a perennial contender.

He needs great players in order to do that. He is working hard on the recruiting trail to get some big-time recruits in. They will be hosting a four-star recruit from the 2026 class on Saturday to help that effort. Chad Fairchild announced he'll be in the building this weekend.

Four-star recruit will visit the Louisville football program this weekend

Louisville is hoping to make a good impression on Fairchild. He's a 6-foot linebacker who weighs in at 215 pounds, and he's from Hampton, Georgia. He's projected to head to Georgia Tech right now, but that doesn't mean that he can't be swayed sometime in the next year.

2026 is a long time from now. New NIL opportunities will open up between now and then. Fairchild will have plenty of time to make a final decision on where he wants to go to school. The Louisville Cardinals have a great chance to make a good impression on him this weekend.

Brohm needs to start landing some good recruits. They have the worst recruiting class in the ACC for the 2025 class. He needs to start recruiting some good players if he wants to build this program into the contender he thinks they can be.
