The Louisville football team still isn't getting any love
By Ryan Stano
The Louisville football team is about to emerge from their first bye week. In their first two games, they didn't face any sort of issues. Both Austin Peay and Jacksonville State were wildly overmatched. The Cardinals have dominated on both the offensive and defensive sides of the ball.
There are all kinds of stats that show Louisville's offense needs to be taken seriously. No one has a better combination of being able to run the ball and stop the run. They also have the second-best yards per play margin in the country getting a net of 5.1 yards per play. Only Ohio State is better at 5.5 yards per play.
Despite this, a lot of the national media is not giving the Louisville Cardinals enough credit. The Cardinals aren't getting enough talk about them being able to win the ACC. They are a great team on both sides of the ball. Still, another team is just the presumed winner of the conference.

Even though the Cardinals have dominated early, Miami is the team that's getting all of the love. Cam Ward's ability to move around in the pocket and throw on the run has captivated the nation. Their schedule has also been stronger than what the Cardinals have had to face so far.
The Hurricanes went into the Swamp and destroyed Florida 41-17 last week. Louisville hasn't played a Power 4 team yet. They will get their first opponent in that regard this weekend against Georgia Tech. Florida isn't any good though and Miami still has to face the Cardinals in Louisville.
That game in Louisville very well could be the matchup that determines who is the best team in the conference. If the Cardinals win that game, they establish dominance in the ACC. They still have a tough schedule to run through, but this could let everyone know they're here to win big games.
A big win over the Yellow Jackets this week could turn some heads and get Louisville some love. They probably don't even want that. They're content with staying under the radar.
