The Louisville football team is about to start its second year under Jeff Brohm. They take on Austin Peay in the season opener on Saturday afternoon. They are ready to get their offense set for some tougher games down the stretch. The Cardinals are also ready to impress some recruits.

Brohm won ten games a year ago. He's using that strong performance to get the Cardinals some attention on the recruiting trail. The Louisville Cardinals will actually be hosting several recruits this weekend for the opening game, so there's more at stake than just the game itself.

A few of the Cardinals' targets are three-star prospects and are from all over the country. Some of the recruits who are visiting have already committed to the Cardinals. In fact, they will be hosting five recruits who have already committed to the Louisville football program.

Louisville is ready to impress all of these commitments further. They are there seeing this game on unofficial visits. All five recruits are going to keep getting recruited by the Cardinals despite already being committed. That's just the way things are these days.

If they want those guys to stay on board, they have to keep recruiting them every day. With NIL, recruits change their minds all the time. That's why the Cardinals need to make sure that they keep up with all of these guys throughout the year. They aren't a Cardinal until that national letter of intent is signed.

A big win would certainly help Brohm's case to keep these guys and get more talented recruits. The 2025 recruiting class is not very impressive right now. They only have 13 commits and it's not a top 50 class in the country. That needs to change if Brohm wants sustained success.
