The Louisville football team has a few transfer players on the roster this year. Transfers have become a big part of college football these days. In fact, they are a large part of roster building for programs. Some programs have built their entire rosters around transfer players.

Louisville doesn't quite go that far. They do have a decent number of transfers, but high school recruits are still the bread and butter of their program. They certainly aren't Colorado or anything in terms of the number of transfers they have or anything like that.

One transfer player will have a bigger impact than the other ones. That player is at the mercy of another transfer getting him the ball. That transfer player is receiver Caullin Lacy. Lacy transfers in from South Alabama after putting up some big numbers a year ago.

Caullin Lacy will have the biggest impact of any Louisville football transfer

Lacy was actually put on the Biletnikoff Award watchlist. He put up just over 1,300 yards receiving for South Alabama and caught 91 balls. Louisville is going to need him to play well if the Cardinals want to return to the ACC Championship Game. He's shifty, so they can use him over the middle.

The one issue for Lacy is that he can't throw the ball to himself. He has to rely on the quarterback to get him the ball. The presumed starter is Tyler Shough, who has transferred numerous times. This is his last chance to start for a whole season and show that he can make an impact.

If Lacy is anything like he was for the Cougars, Louisville Cardinals fans are going to be very happy with his performance. He's going to help them compete in the ACC and compete for a conference crown.
