Why the Louisville football team should feel great after Week 1

Coming off a big win over Austin Peay, Louisville should feel fantastic about where they are right now.

The Louisville football team had one of the biggest wins of any team in college football during Week 1. They eviscerated Austin Peay 62-0 and looked great on offense. Not only did the offense look better than advertised but the defense was just as good.

Normally, the Cardinals would feel pretty good about themselves coming off such a big win. Even though the Governors aren't a good team, a 62-point win is still something to be proud of. But now they should be even happier with where they are after Week 1 because of what's happened around them.

The rest of the ACC looks extremely gettable. If you look at who the Louisville Cardinals play this year in the conference, their schedule is extremely favorable. They have a really good shot of making the ACC Championship Game again this year and making the College Football Playoff.

Why the Louisville football team should feel great about where they are

Three of the teams in the ACC that people like to win the conference have already lost. Florida State, Virginia Tech, and Clemson all looked bad in their games. FSU already has a conference loss. Even NC State looked bad in the win they got over a bad Western Carolina team.

Only Miami looked strong of the ranked ACC teams. The Cardinals get them at home though. Everyone else in the conference looks extremely beatable. Notre Dame looks like a very good team, but that doesn't matter for Louisville. They just need to win the ACC to make the CFP.

Things could not have gone better for the Cardinals in Week 1. Their own team looks ready to keep up the momentum from last year and teams around them don't look as good. It's the perfect combination to give them what could be a special season.
